Mirror Wills for New Parents in British Columbia
Mirror wills built to British Columbia’s Wills, Estates and Succession Act and designed by a licensed lawyer — written with new parents in mind.
Your will is free. The matching will for your partner is added to it at checkout — $39 USD.

What new parents should know
- Naming a guardian is the single most important thing a new parent does in a will — without it, a court decides who raises your children.
- Name a guardian for your children, and a backup in case your first choice cannot serve.
- Set an age at which children inherit outright, so a young adult does not receive everything at 18.
- Appoint someone to manage money for your children until they reach that age.
- British Columbia follows British Columbia law — your mirror wills is governed by the Wills, Estates and Succession Act.
- In British Columbia you must be at least 16 years old and mentally capable to make a will — a will made under 16 is not valid (WESA s.36).
- Your will must be signed at its end in the presence of two or more witnesses present at the same time, and signed by those witnesses in your presence (WESA s.37).
